SPB-1 -- In 1957, Leo Fender changed the Precision Bass® guitar pickup to a two coil system wired together to eliminate interference hum. He also used two pole pieces for each string to capture the greater string excursion of the bass guitar. This pickup delivers the distinctive smooth output, increased treble and full midrange of the original.
