PAF Joe is the new neck pickup developed for Joe Satriani. Joe wanted a neck position humbucker that combined the best qualities of the PAF Pro with those of a late 50s Gibson humbucker. Joe describes this tone as being "tubular". Through the use of Virtual Vintage technology , clear sounding low frequencies are blended with warm sounding mids and highs, which makes the PAF Joe equally good for chords and single notes. Joe first used it in his 2003 tour. The standard colour is black. If you like the look of double cream coils - DiMarzio is the only manufacturer - however, it is a special order from the factory - as are Zebra coils - and delivery is 4-6 weeks. Gibson Les Pauls, SGs, 335s, Flying Vs, etc should be fitted with standard spacing pickups while ALL others should be fitted with F-spaced pickups.
