Bass Preamps

The BTC Control features a bass and treble equalizer on a concentric (stacked) pot. It takes up very little space and will work with any pickup, active or passive. It comes complete with knobs (including 2 extra volume knobs). BTC Controls and Systems are the most widely used bass EQ Systems in the world. Approximately 12db of cut and boost are available for bass and treble and all controls are center detented to assure quick return to normal tone settings. A dual-dip switch is mounted to the PC Board that lets you program the high end frequency response four different ways so you can choose the sound that's right for you. These systems use the latest in surface mount technology, are extremely quiet, and require very little current from a 9 Volt battery.

The B30 equalizer was designed for contouring bass, mid and treble frequencies of bass guitar. It features single-pole filters for broadband equalization of 6db per octave. Often the broader single-pole filters are preferred for musical instruments because they are less selective, easier on the ear and sound more “musical”. The B30EQ has a center detent for easy reset to “flat” response, has a high input impedance, and can be used with active or passive pickups. Bass, Mid and Treble controls are spaced 1.25 inches (31.75mm) on center. Split Shaft pots are used throughout.

The B64 Equalizer was designed for contouring bass, mid and treble frequencies of bass guitar. Unlike the B30EQ, it has a tighter filter bandwidth giving a more pronounced effect from each control. The mid-cut of the B64 is perfect for “funk” with its mid-range centered at a lower frequency. Both Bass and Treble controls on the B64 are more selective and don’t creep into the mid-range as much as the B30. This control also has center detent for easy reset to “flat” response, a high input impedance, and it can be used with active or passive pickups. Bass, Mid and Treble controls are spaced 1.25 inches (31.75mm) on center. Split Shaft pots are used throughout.

On board Tone Circuits for adding tremendous tonal versatility. Enables the player to add to subtract EQ at center frequencies voiced specifically for electric bass. They feature low noise, low distortion and high headroom. Useful for all musical styles and genres.

Three bands of active EQ, plus the proprietary Slap Switch. The lows are deep, clear, and tight. The mids range from ultra-smooth to punchy and all points in between. The treble control can produce a very wide, very usable response that is brilliant, yet smooth without any brittleness. Pulling up on the volume knob engages the proprietary Slap Switch, a special EQ contour made just for slap-style playing.

Use together with Basslines' replacement pickup for Music Man bass. Includes all necessary mounting hardware: high-quality potentiometers on pre-wired harness; battery clip; stereo jack; and black anodized, knurled, dome-style knobs.

For Music Man® StingRay® basses and other basses with a single passive pickup. Will not work with 3-coil pickup.
